RESCUE
I know a man who died for his country
But it's probably not quite what you think
Paul was a rescue worker at ground zero
And when he went he was imbibed with drink
You see he drank himself into a stupor
A hundred grand in the hole with medical bills
His country said he had a pre-existing condition
And wouldn't help him cure his ills
For they never asked him for his help
Since He showed up on his own accord
Then He got sick like so many others did
And so this is his reward?
All he got was this song by me
No medal of honor, no key to the city
All he got was a cold shoulder's tarn
Chronic bronchitis and first degree burns
All he got was a name and a date
On a stone that his parents paid for
All he got was a slap in the face
For following the advice of JFK and other great
leaders who came before
---
The lesson I learned is keep walking
The next time you hear a cry for help
As this voice in my ear keeps on talking
Let us go before we fall victim ourself..

I walked in and the band was playin' Dylan
So I grabbed a drink and started chillin'
Tonight {struck: I'll call} this place my own
Tonight I'll call this place {struck: ✿} my home
Tonight is what life is all about -> {struck: Take all the bad}
{struck: Because} {struck: and block it out!}
Sometimes life can be so damn depressing
Those deep, dark feelings that there's no surpassing
Sometimes you just have to give yourself a chance
To hear a song, to get up and dance
To just live in the moment
To just ride the wave
'Cause once it starts flowing
It'll take you away
I've had too many days staring at the ceiling
Within the confines of my room
Just holding my head as I was kneeling
Felt like someone broke in and my soul was stealing
Waiting to live just like an unborn child inside
I felt like Ulysses S. Grant inside the womb
But I'm still living {struck: ..} of his tomb...
And I'm still breathing
Get me out of my shell
Just give me a reason
Make one up if you have to
Get me out of my shell

PEABODY & LYNNFIELD WEEKLY NEWS
Ninth Annual Peabody Golf Day
continued from page 11
paraphernalia, I looked good.
Broome explained with a big grin while enjoying a hearty meal after the round, "I'm going to have to go home and tell my wife I have been playing well with my irons. I stayed in the middle of the fairway, but I couldn't putt to save my life."
"This is my second year playing the course. It's a great time and it's a chance to meet your neighbors."
Unfortunately, Broome had to let his next-door neighbors win because he had to ride home with them.
"As I said," he said, "Maybe I should have tried to win because it's only a 15-minute walk."
Broome considered this to be the opportunity of a lifetime for any golfer.
"Many friends of mine who I tell about this and that I should move to Peabody just to play this year, well, he said.
Credit has to be given to the Salem Country Club for generating, reaching out to the community.
"We feel very special that we can be involved in the community affairs within Peabody," said Robert P. McCormack, president of the club. "Not that we were the reason, but I understand that now the cities of Beverly and Salem are doing the same thing as us."
McCormack also praised the man who has been behind the organization of Peabody Golf Day.
"Over the past nine years, Joe O'Boyle has gotten the whip out and he's asked these volunteers to help out to make this day a success," McCormack said. "The commitment will always be there for the Salem Country Club to do our part to be part of the community of the city of Peabody."
Commitment to the community is the driving force behind the fundraiser.
"Back in 1995, we were celebrating our centennial just as the city was celebrating their bicentennial," explained the 83-year-old O'Boyle, a Salem CC member since 1967. "I was part of a committee that was brainstorming ideas for how to celebrate the club's centennial. Having a big mouth, I suggested that we try to do something community-related and the committee thought that was a great idea and they elected me chairman.
"We're going to put $21,000 in the bank from this year's tournament, so we're up to $184,000 [overall], and what we do is pay out the interest every year to the students so that if something happens for some reason and we have to discontinue the tournament, the students will still be able to benefit."
In addition to the scholarships, the club picks up all of the costs for the event, ensuring that every nickel goes to

the community.
The Mayor of Peabody, Mike Bonfanti, does not golf, but was one of those attending the luncheon.
"I was here today to honor the two young people being given scholarships and also to show support for Salem Country Club for the good work that they do in having the Peabody Golf Day, which benefits the residents in two ways: to play golf on a private course and also to raise funds for the kids," Bonfanti said. "It's a win win situation."
The recipients of the George Memorial Scholarship Fund were Jessica Cyr and Jesse Correia. Cyr will attend the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth while double majoring in Portuguese and Political Science while Correia will be enrolling at Merrimack College.
"I had a great day as usual," added Peabody resident Tom Moran, who has played in all nine Peabody Golf Days.
"It's a great course and I can't say enough about it. We're lucky to be able to take advantage of it. It's nice of the club to do it for us and the kids."

All dark and depressing thoughts fade away
I sense the voices but I can't hear a word they say
Yeah, I hit rock bottom - but that was yesterday
Evil thoughts, yeah I fought em, Now I'm livin in a brand new day
Now of course I still sing the blues
I still tell the stories but they're not my shoes
And though I might not win
At least now I know I'm not gonna lose
And I did it all by my self
Without any help from you
And now I've found someone else
Someone who'll see me through
I said hello to her
Once & said good bye to you

I cut my arm only to watch it bleed
Just to see if anyone would take me
Just my luck right back here
Exactly where I didn't wanna be
Thought of my cross as too much to bear
If not for the nails then I'd be free

I would have thought that religion (with OLD widened to: that
I would have thought religion - found once)

The more I'm falling in love
Should I give thanks to Charles Darwin
Or to the Lord Above?
No matter, for later
Be it Adam & Eve or an alligator
I'm god's gift to evolution
To any problem I'll find a solution

8 Everyday thousands of people
8 Can be seen here walking downtown
8 Watch them pass the pizza parlor
8 And Gaze out upon the harbor
8 There are so many sights and sounds
8 Some act like young children
8 Laughing smiling looking around in the sides
8 While others stand without their hands of their pockets
8 Sadly walking with their heads down
8 [crossed out: Keep staring at the ground] / lonely eyes fixed upon the ground
16 I see a well-dressed man waiting for someone or anyone
8 that will help him with his quest to find what can't possibly
8 be found
16 As for me I'm not running for anything or from anyone
8 I'm searching for one special face amongst the crowd
8 though I mistake for
8 From a distance I saw someone that sticks out
8 As I tried to catch the butterflies and those anxious feelings
8 to my surprise I realized it was the sillonette of a stranger
8 All too revealing once I changed my point

My own father wants me to get a steady
nine to five
Buy a little house with a white picket fence
to Raise a family collect social security
Become a corporate slave 'til they put me in
my grave
And this is what he answered when I asked
him why:
He said son you're getting kind of old
To put your all faith in rock n' roll
I think it's time you give something else a try
But dad I feel it in my soul
It's out of my control
I may be living in a dream
But it's this dream that's keeping me alive
Aren't you a little long in the tooth
To still be going that route?
Every body grows up
Everyone gives in
This was his reply
Pop, haven't you heard (Little Bird) (Last cup of
Coffee and (Let Down)
Oh that's right... You were gone on your
business meeting out of town
How about (Unity) (Water flesh and Bone
or (In the pouring Rain
Oh that's right... you were a thousand miles
and a thousand miles away on a plane
---
and a thousand miles away on a plane
He said son that's not fair of you
to say that to me...
Someone's got to pay the bills and feed
the family
I said dad that might be right for you
But what if it doesn't work for me?
My music is my legacy
I didn't choose it - it selected me
Sure it might be a dead end
And it might be a war
But it's the only thing I have
That's truely mine and worth fighting for
And to give in and to give up
After so many years
Honesty, honestly never again
would my eyes be at loss for tears
I have to see this thru
this is the promise I made to myself the other day
yes, I can see your point of view
But so I guess there's nothing more to say
Here's to my failure
or success

This is a new song my latest hit
I didn't want to write it
But I don't know how to quit
I found the time to pen this rhyme
During my self-exhile from the house
After I screamed bitter words of anger
When I should have stayed as quiet as a mouse
Now I'm a king without a castle
A husband missing his spouse
What was once buried so deep
Finally found its way out
As it seems that the preacher who was teaching
Had no idea what he was talking about
And I believed his every word
Listened to all of his lies
Somehow I {struck: turned} changed the happiest girl in the world
Now she's got tears running down her eyes

I have turned the knob that opens up a door
to a secret room that doesn't have a floor
Where the walls are bare and there is just
a folding chair
Floating in both space and time and on
it reads a sign
That states: This is the thrown to a Kingdom
which awaits any man who creates
A way to rise up above the fray
And reach the seat hanging below this archway
for he is the next protege who can free this world
from its everpresent pain, block out
the sun, turn off and on the rain...
awaits

SECRET ROOM
I have turned the knob
That opens up a door
To a secret room
That doesn't have a floor
Where the walls are bare
And there is just a folding chair
Floating in both space and time
And on it reads a sign
That states:
This is the throne to a kingdom which awaits
Any man who creates
A way to rise up above the fray
And reach the seat
Hanging below this archway
For he is the protégé
Who can free this world
From its ever present pain
Block out the sun
Turn off and on the rain
He who holds the power...
To build both churches or schools
to entrap and to enchain
He who holds the power...
To [crossed out: rott] destroy or to rule
And yet he will refrain

I wish my hardest for those who cant pay
[crossed out: both the]
Think about that thought for a moment
I light...
O kay...
You're right...
It's a hard way to make a living
But if you could see the smile on my face
at the end of the day
Maybe then you'd understand why when my
name gets mentioned people usually say
Life is 10 percent what happens
And 90 percent how we [crossed out: xxxxxx] deal with it
Some people save lives.
Others live to save coins
As I watch the sun rise
I see a rose with its thorns
Potato is my satan
I'll eat it once you put it through
hell
---
(to go in)
I am the rules
What if one morning you woke up
and didn't love yourself at all?
Punching the clock is like getting punched in
the face
Slaving away wasting a day today
Can't sugar coat it
My gun is loaded
---
Father Time
The casino and father-time
Two who will take your last dime
Right Now... Is the time
Right Here... Is the place
Left out... Is not where to be
Time to rejoin... the human race
Being human- it ain't a
bad thing to be, no...
So long as you accept the fact that
they just put a price
on your life
Then E-BAYED
And your
Soul
---
looking back at my reflection in a dirty window
looking forward to better times ahead
looking for advice
---
My inspiration is fleeting
like two old friends meeting
on a dark and lonely, cold Road
My head is so deep in the sand
I know how to say hello in Afghan,
Iraq, Iran and Pakistan

The words on this page
Free Masons want to rule the world
But I can't say I really blame them
Bilderberg wants control over all the earth
{struck: these ruthless lions no one can tame them}
The illuminati believe they're the only souls of worth
For what they strive is either feast or famine
Such a tangled web of truth and lies
Who can't we trust? Let us {struck: make our last} name some names and examine ...

SLOW Intro
[In the middle top:]
FAST PACE
[Body text:]
He holds the power... to relieve pain
He holds the power... to heal the lame
He holds the reigns
God stands above you... [scribbled out]
He doesn't love you... says Let it rain
for forty days and forty nights
God got real pissed yet I'm not sure why?
Hellfire and brimstoned every thing in sight
Blacked out the sun
so now we have no light
Left everyone here swimming for their life
Now [?:] the water getting cold and turning to ice
[crossed out word] left everyone here swimming around
Smoke in their eyes From all the shit he hurld down
Thought I'd get to live for another Fifty years
Really thought he loved me but the fucker doesn't care
Thought I heard a cry for help but it's really hard to hear
Just another little kid crying his eyes filled with
smoke and tears
Ah that's better now I can't hear him any more
Little sucker sunk to the bottom of the ocean floor
Now I'm sure alot of you are thinking that that's not
fair
Think of the bright side he'll have a lot of friends
to play with down there

The words on this page
They let me hold a gun
'Cause I'm good at serving power
They said shoot anything that runs
As they placed me in this tower
Finally a job that's fun
[crossed out text] They said they pay by the hour
Used get cash per metric ton
But when they lost money their faces soured
Guess that's about what you'd expect
From a peasantry gone crazy
Due to mistreatment and neglect
