My name is Tom. I write lyrics. I have been writing them for thirty years. I am not a performer and I do not play an instrument — I write the words, and other people turn my words into songs. So far about 120 of my songs have been made into real recordings, and I have enough finished material for 34 albums and then some. Every lyric on this site is free to use. The only price is attribution: my name stays on my words.
Because I write for four different audiences at once, and my material covers the whole road. On one end I have seven albums that are some of the nicest things you will ever hear. On the other end I have work that is graphic, X-rated, and politically charged. One front door cannot serve all of that honestly — so the site sorts itself by rating before you walk in.
The ratings are not about age. The test is simple: if Johnny got caught with this in class, would he get in trouble? That is it. It is a material rating, not an age rating. Whatever rating you pick below decides how much of the site opens up to you.
Fair question. The answer is a musician called Lady Weaver — the reason any of this exists in public. Meet Lady Weaver here, video included.
And one more thing: I built Musical Baseball Cards — 391 musicians, scored across ten categories like ballplayers. It is exactly as ridiculous and exactly as serious as it sounds.
