The Plan — Choose Your Depth
Different-Length Business Plans
One Sentence
I'm Tom Jensen, a 47-year-old lyricist with 34 albums' worth of songs — 120 finished, 375 more ready to go — and I'm building a live, collaborative songwriting venue and online platform where musicians, audience members, and dreamers co-create new music in real time and share in the profits.
Mid-Size
My name is Tom Jensen. I'm a 47-year-old lyricist with 34 albums' worth of original material — 120 fully written songs and over 375 more waiting for music and singers. I'm building a live, collaborative songwriting venue paired with an online platform where musicians, fans, and dreamers co-create new music in real time and share in the profits. A live moderator will relay online audience input directly to the stage, and contributors can register through an app to receive official songwriting credit and potential future royalties. The key point: the material is ready, and it's strong — tested, structured, and built to move people. Now I need partners. I'm looking for a benefactor or business-minded ally with vision, contacts, and the resources to help launch this creatively and commercially.
Large
My name is Tom Jensen, a 47-year-old lyricist with 34 albums' worth of original material — 120 completed songs and over 375 more waiting for music and singers. I'm looking to launch a live, interactive songwriting venue — an in-person space combined with an online platform — where musicians, fans, contributors, and special guests collaborate in real time to create original music and share in the profits.
A live moderator would relay online audience input directly to performers on-site, and contributors could register through an app to officially receive songwriting credit and potential future revenue. At this stage, my presentation is focused on one key point: the material is ready, and it's solid. Show my work to someone who knows writing — lyrics, songcraft, wit, storytelling — and see what they say. I'm confident it will speak for itself.
But now, I need help. I need a benefactor. I need a business-minded partner with contacts, vision, and the ability to get this off the ground. I need healthcare, a guaranteed weekly salary, and a chunk of funk up front. I'm open to doing anything with this collection — a rock star or three, a Broadway show, sync licenses, or a global remix challenge. I've taken this as far as one guy with a pen, a notebook, and a phone can go. The rest starts now.
Section I
Project Overview
This is not a collection of songs. It is a life's work — a document of survival, evolution, grief, rage, tenderness, addiction, recovery, love, loss, politics, parody, and the relentless pursuit of truth through rhyme.

Section II
The Rating System — G to X
The catalog is rated G through X. This is not a marketing gimmick — it is a navigation tool. Every collection is preceded by a detailed trigger warning. The rating system allows musicians, audiences, and collaborators to find exactly what they are looking for.
G / PG
~25% of catalog
~120 songs · Tender, romantic, spiritual. Safe for all ages. The trust-builders.
PG-13
~40% of catalog
~200 songs · The center of gravity. Addiction, politics, war, mental health. Serious craft.
R
~25% of catalog
~125 songs · Strong explicit content. First-person narratives. Artistic framing.
X
~10% of catalog
~50 songs · The edge. The filter. Ensures only serious people stick around.
Key Insight: The G/PG material (~120 songs across 5 entire clean collections) is the foundation of tenderness and trust-building. These are not isolated clean songs buried in explicit albums. These are complete collections of devotion, romance, and spiritual depth — an entire career's worth of clean work that proves this project is not just a shock operation.
Section VI
The Business Model — Two-Track Release
Two primary tracks that work together and reinforce each other. Track 1 builds name recognition and proves commercial value. Track 2 turns that recognition into a sustainable revenue ecosystem and community. Both feed into a third phase: the payday.
Track 1 — Free Lyric Licensing
- All ~495 lyrics free to use permanently
- One condition: mandatory attribution
- Non-exclusive licenses only
- Commercial use: tracked, musicians may profit
- Goal: name ubiquity
- Cover of a cover of a cover — compounds indefinitely
Track 2 — Live Shows + Revenue-Share App
- Physical venue: bar, coffeehouse, flexible space
- Online component: live moderator relays audience input to stage
- The App: registers users, logs contributions, tracks timestamps
- Revenue share: contributors get 3–10% per song
- Goal: turn passive listeners into active stakeholders
- Each of ~495 songs is a lottery ticket not yet scratched
The Covering Songs Framework — Legal Foundation
You can cover a song without permission once it has been officially released. All 120 existing songs are officially released.
You must pay mechanical royalties to the songwriter. The lyricist waives royalty collection on lyrics. Attribution is the cost of use.
Permission to extend, rework, translate, or build on any lyric is granted in the license itself.
The lyricist will never claim monetization on a video that uses the lyrics with music someone else created.
Live performances are covered by venue licensing. Play these songs anywhere.
Strip a name from the chain and you lose permission to use the lyrics.
Section VII
The Payday — What Happens After the Catalog Is Free
The free catalog is the engine. The payday is the destination it builds toward. Once the name is ubiquitous, once thousands of versions exist, once the commercial value has been demonstrated by the market itself — the calculus changes.
1
Free catalog builds the name~495 lyrics released free with mandatory attribution. The chain compounds indefinitely.
2
Demand for new work skyrocketsThousands of versions on every platform. Commercial value proven by market action.
3
Announce that new lyrics will be exclusive and paidArtists, labels, and publishers come to the table.
4
Sell a new album of 10–12 songs for $500,000 or moreExclusive first use only. Writer credit is always retained. Free catalog remains free forever.

The Personal Ask
