Tom Jensen is a songwriter and lyricist from Massachusetts. He has been writing since he was sixteen years old — starting with a poem on a bathroom wall and a Bob Dylan song playing in his father's car. Those two things wired him for life.
He spent his twenties building a writing voice that fused the literary depth of sixties rock with the raw directness of hip-hop. He worked construction. He went to night school. He chose poetry over journalism when the moment came and never looked back.
At thirty he was on YouTube, posting lyric videos, building collaborations with musicians around the world. He reached ten thousand subscribers. He was on his way. Then a collaborator pointed him toward a Danish musician named Lady Weaver — and everything changed. She was, in his words, the greatest musician he had ever heard. He dedicated years to supporting her work and her life. He went to Denmark. It did not work out the way he hoped.
He came back from Denmark and spent roughly fifteen years in a kind of creative hibernation. He withdrew. He deleted his YouTube channels — ten thousand subscribers, all the music, all the songs, gone. Then he got an email from Lady Weaver's mother. She had died of cancer. She left behind a son and children with her fiancé. She left too quietly and too soon.
That loss became the fuel. The entire Collabtunes project — the free lyric model, the community platform, the catalog — was built in her honor. If one thing comes from all of this, let the world finally hear her music.
Today Tom has 434 original songs organized into 34 albums, built over twenty-nine years. More than 120 of those songs have already been recorded by musicians from around the world. He lives with a close friend and collaborator he calls the Army of Two. He has a three-year-old black cat who wants a yard.
He is a free agent until September 1st. The catalog opens on that date — all 434 lyrics free for anyone to use, with one condition: put his name on it. He is looking for an investor, a venue, and a CEO. The door is open.
