THE PAST
What do you see when you look in my eyes?
Do you seek the truth or believe the lies
Follow the light or sit in the dark in your room
Stare into the sun or gaze at the moon?

Whatever choice you make you have
you have to live with yourself
But deep down you know there's someone else
Hiding behind the wall
Can't you here her call
Hear her say your name
Are you still the same?
All the fingers point in the same direction
Yet again you chose the wrong selection
Still the past is on your feet
Be careful who you meet
Just make sure they're on the same road as you
You know what some people can do

A LITTLE SOMETHING
Everybody's got something
when they got nothing
An escape
A little freedom
A little something
To make the time pass
But that time
Catches up to you
Especially when you feel
You have nothing to lose
I saw your eyes
And you knew that I knew
A whole lot of something
A little this
A little that
A little booze

The words on this page
I got bagged just two years before my car
Again I poured my beer then closed the door
And took my car ride right to jail
And I poured my beer before my car
Then closed the door
Took my car ride right
Saw blue lights flashing
Then I had to make bail
Handcuffed and placed in a cruiser
Played a drinking game
Where I was the loser
Slept on a cold metal cott
I should have smoked pot
But I drank cheap beer
And This is what I got
Too drunk to walk
Decided to drive
Started heading home
But I never arrived
One more story about
The days of my youth
I've been through the mill
Do you need any more proof?

The words on this page
We were never really sure
Just exactly what his name was
But what we knew was that he lived next door
And he'd always try to scam us
But what would you really expect
From someone living from check to check
Alot of them say what the heck?
I'm living in the projects
So be it Cal, Karl or Kyle
You still know all the right numbers to dial
When we see you
You Always come with just more than a smile
You may check his pockets
But never in his socks
And when he gets there
The party really rocks
It's like paying for a friend
Who always needs a lend
But hell he probably makes more than us
For all the errands he's been sent
He's got more stories than a preacher
Of "Life can be unkind" he is the teacher
But I'm not trying to paint
A picture of him in blood
He's ranked number one in the world
When it comes to picking up bud

Never really rises at all

Time for you to see the end - Not a pig
but a pig roast
You may see her everyday - but I get her
on the weekends
My time's beginning she says - I'm a lover
you're just a friend
How could you try to steal my girl?
The last time I saw you we drank a twelve
pack
How could you try to steal my girl?
Cheers - Then go and stab me in the back
You could never scare me
I've met alot of guys like you
She said Not even if you dare me
She'd never ever go out with you
You only try to crowd her
But I could never be any closer

I showed my love through words and deeds
But she wasn't ready to take me back

Thousand miles above

When dreaming of your eyes I stare at the stars
Thinking of your face I lose my train of thought
and go walking into cars
The day you tell me we'll never go any higher
Then I'll remove my shoes and go walking across the fire

The wind blowing cold across the stormy sea
No longer chills me having felt your fire.
To prove my love I'll race inside a burning building
to rescue anyone that your heart desires

Don't Fan the flames
Don't burn me
I'm not so bad
When you learn me

Day after day
You still amaze me
Don't say no
You'll drive me crazy

(cut this --- and the 4-line block after it, to the end of the words box)
Well I tried to be so strong
But my self-esteem is gone
That woman done me wrong

Oh... and will we be together forever
wont you let me know Molly... I'd hold you and I

Molly... Without you I'd crumble

And before long I know that I'd fall

What's left is being blown far away
Today just may end up being a good day
Maybe tonight if the air feels right...
Together we'll go take a ride up to the hillside
and go star gazing

---

It's now been proven
You don't have to be black
to be a nigger
You just have to believe
That a gun makes you bigger
Either black or white
when it comes down to the fight
A real man uses his hands
And punches he lands
To avoid a cell
That's a living hell
Because he used bullets
Instead of using his head
As he sits ands rots in prison
Because the other guy's dead

Reincarnation
Legs spread wide open
muscle contractions push me right out the door
Soaking wet and thrown into a cold world
Ready to start a new tour
groggy and crying
My eyes start to open
With my senses beginning to soar
I can't quite place it
Nor track or trace it
But something tells me I've been here before
There's no heaven or hell
As far as I can tell
Only new shapes and sizes
And All These different disguises
I've been a rich man, a poor man
A black man, a woman
A cat, a flea
A dog, a tree
All over the world
And Every century
I've fought to supress
And I've fought to free

The words on this page
Feel free to fall in love with my art
But just be careful when it comes to me and
my person...
I've spent my life running from broken hearts
Most of those i've loved have been left hurting
Did you think you were the exception to
the rule
Sorry, it looks like I played you, too
Don't you feel like a fool?
Sorry, for such and such
Sorry, for these things I never meant to do...
Honey, believe me this is true
Still i've done these things to you

This is why I try to stay to myself
I limit the pain infliction anyone else
Hiding safely behind this pane of glass
Where I can deny that I told you a lie
On the single most important question
that i've ever been asked:

Are you okay? Are you happy?
Well, of course I am! No... i'm not sad...

---

The man in the sky he blocks out the sun
Darkness is left and I see none
I knew he would come but I thought he would wait
too late
And for the people who ran it was already
You Never Know what kind of fruit
is gonna grow
You Never Know just what your seeds
will bear
You Never Know exactly where it's
gonna go
You Never Know when it's all gonna
disappear
You Never Know
You Never Know
You Never Know

Man in the sky lookin' down
Man in the sky Man with a frown
Man in the sky look at a town
Man in the sky burn it down
burn it down
burn it down
You Never Know
You Never Know
You Never Know

---

I've heard of resurrections but I never believed it.
Back for Revenge of those who need to make amends.
There is no defense ladies and gentlemen!
Rules are bent by hands that can break
Fools are sent for and awakened for a wake
You Never know
You never know
You never know

After you fall off the wagon

After you're ran over by the train

After the plane's wing caught on fire
You ain't going any higher
After the subway doors close
You can't tell where it goes
After the escalator stops
You have to walk
After you break your ankle when you fall
You know it's time to crawl
After that happens well then you're stuck
You chaulk it up to just plain bad luck

Just what is wrong with me?
Maybe there is something wrong with us.
Find life in someone else
Living so vicarious-LY.
I took a minute to get away from myself
Decided to look through somebody else
Stared towards the street and the cars passing by
So many other souls maybe I'll give them a try
Looked at every car of every color
I soon discovered there were so many faces
Looked at all the people of every color
I soon discovered there were so many races
From my eyes I gave myself some advice
How can we be racist? It's the roll of the dice.
All the trees are green
I guess that's why they get along
So I'm just being me
That's why I sing this song
What else can you see?
You haven't seen all along
Hatred's only for the wicked
Eyes too [?] colored to see
I'll tell them where to stick it
So if they ever come asking me!

Jensen 3

When the heat came down the next year, me and Cicotte, we were the first guys to admit what happened. I told the jury that I got paid the money but that I never made any intentional misplays, always batted to make a hit and always ran the bases to win. After all was said and done the jury only took three hours to find us not guilty. But the problem was that so many people were afraid of another fix that when Ban Johnson's three man commission changed to just one that Judge Landis wanted to make us an example to everybody else. The only wrongdoing I took part in was not telling Mr. Cominsky about the ring. And even though I set a record with 12 hits and hit .375 in the series and didn't make an error I was still banished from the game I love. I know for fact that if Mr. Cominsky rewarded us fairly for the year we had that no one on the team would have batted an eye no matter how much money the numbers runners were offering. Guys like Collins didn't need the money but what about guys like me busting my butt for peanuts.

I think that the Black Sox scandal represented America. There were more and more gamblers looking for a quick buck. There was fixing in every sport there was. The economy was getting better and people were trying to squeeze every penny they could. Everyone's life was getting better so people paid more attention to their past time and baseball was as popular as ever. I don't think that anyone was ready to admit that a game as sacred as baseball would

When I'm running out of patience and time
And when it comes to loving someone
I'm not afraid to sell my soul blind

But only for the right one
Will I ever chop down my roots
But only for the night one
Will I ever risk my head inside a nice

The one thing about my world
The only trouble is that you never get out of it alie
She could be the only girl
For who I may put on hold All of the things to
which I strive

You learn all the time
With each new step you take
Though some like me may risk it all
Putting everything out on the line
Can set you up for one hell of a heart

The words on this page
It's now 1:10 and I let it happen again
By the time of 1:11 I could be on my way to heaven
I guess it really depends on who's telling the story
This teller here's still stuck in purgatory
1:24 I was just here but not anymore
1:25 And I'm still alive so I guess it's better than sleeping
1:26 Somethings need to fixxed but they're still worth keeping
The consequence of man
The lessons he has learned
The cities he has built
The bridges he has burned
A five minute thought
Only takes a few seconds to read
A little truth taught
To anyone who agrees

The words on this page
Not that long ago there was this little man and he'd talk
into my ear
Told me About a life of smiling girls and parties said the things
he knew I'd want to hear
Talked about stayin' up all night and dancing 'til the sun
came around again
Sitting in a circle, meeting someone new, now they're
your new best friend
He {struck: told} reminded me that I {struck: you} only live once and today will
will be gone tomorrow
So I said yes, but if only I knew then that
what happiness he promised me [crossed out text]
Change ->
Thank God I've finally got that monkey off my
back
The skeletons are locked in my closet and they're never
coming back
As I waded in the water {struck: the current dragged}
the tide it started coming in {struck: me out to sea}
Then It dragged me out to sea but I couldn't swim

I stepped out for a breath of fresh air
Lit up a smoke and sat down on my stairs
I watched the birds singing from their tree
and wondered why life can't be this simple for me
To live so free, a world with no restraints
To draw on an empty canvass with all these colored paints
Some peace of mind I find a little inner peace
Then I'll look at what i've done my own masterpiece
I may be an artist but not quite like that
[crossed out: I could've have been]
I couldn't be a baseball player. I had the balls but
not the bat.

And trust which way your compass is facing
The direction you've been heading
For right now the good seems good for getting

Talking about work, talking about the end
Read in the paper there no remains found

Smoke 'em if you got 'em
We're going down
Living is what happens only day to day
You can see how quick it all fades away

I started writing my own when my girl said she'd stay,
"You better goto rehab if you wanna stay with me,"
"Where white coated men will bound you and say its for your security."
Bound may be too strong, more like strongly secured,
Found has been my better half, but the illness still needs a cure,
I've cried to sleep too many nights since she went away,
